At Daskalakis Winery, 3 different guided tours take place, for which it is necessary to make an appointment one day in advance.

The visitor has the opportunity to taste the wines of the winery in the tasting room and to see the areas where the wine is vinified and bottled.

Along with the tastings, there is the possibility of eating, upon request.

Short tour of the winery premises. Tasting of 7 different wines accompanied with Cretan rusk, olives, Cretan gruyere and traditional Cretan meze.

What to expect
  • Hold the glass properly.
  • Always carry the glass by its foot, to avoid warming, as well as sullying the wine cup with possibly sweaty or dirty hands.
  • Observe your glass.
  • Wine is a living organism. It demands your attention. Hold a glass of wine above a white surface at a 45° angle. What do you notice?
  • Trust in your sense of smell.
  • With our noses we can identify plenty of smells. Inhale to detect the aromas of the wine and then swirl the juice in the glass.
  • Smell once more and try distinguishing the details. The more the wine breaths, the more it releases a plethora of aromas, which pleasantly alter the taste.
  • Have a sip of wine.
  • Now take a sip, while allowing some air into your mouth, to directly aerate the wine itself.
  • Twirl it around your mouth for a bit, to allow some time for the different parts of the tongue to perceive the flavors of the wine.
  • In case you’re planning on trying plenty of wine varieties, either do so in moderation or spit the wine out, to equally enjoy and appreciate the rest.

Upon arrival at the winery, you partake in a tour of the winery premises.

Wine Tasting

The tasting of 7 different wines begins. The wines you will try are consisted of 3 whites, 3 red and 1 rose.

Side dishes

Each wine will be accompanied by Cretan rusk, Cretan anthotiro and Cretan graviera.
